Garage Door Fix - Pricing Scam by Precision Garage Door

I hope this message makes it out to everyone in the Midwest. DO NOT let Precision Garage Door company talk you into their exorbitant pricing to fix your garage door. Obviously this applies to everyone out there that are not as handy and do not know or want to fix a garage door to replace springs or cable themselves. Story Below:

We were looking around trying to get pricing for our aunt to replace her broken garage door cable that makes the garage door crooked and hard to open. We googled them and they seem like a huge company with a large fleet that would come out and fix same day with excellent reviews. Met the tech up same day, nice enough guy, but he quoted us a whooping $1199 to replace a spring and a cable one side. I considered myself fairly handy and have replaced my own garage door springs by following Youtube videos, and the material does not cost nearly close to that. The tech went on to explain that he realizes their company is not the cheapest and they do a lot of advertising plus having 75 fleet cars around town at most times. I kindly rejected his offer and he said even if he talked to his boss, he would only get it down to about $900.

We found this other company called 1st Choice Garage Doors in South Bend, Indiana, and even though it was scheduled for next day, it only cost $125 to replace the cable and the kicker is the spring didn't even need to be replaced.

DO NOT use Precision Garage and don't let them trick your grandparents/parents into hiring their service. Crooks trying to rob the people that don't know any better.
